Martin is a QC in practice at 2 Temple Gardens, London. He was called to the bar in 1986 and appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 2006. Martin’s specialist practice areas are clinical negligence, personal injury and public law.
He does a lot of work for individual cyclists and for cycling organisations. He has had a keen interest in Bikeability since taking level 3 in 2010 and was responsible for introducing Bikeability to the Secondary School where he was a Governor from 2013 to 2017.
Martin also has an interest in the justice system as it affects cyclists. He has given evidence on numerous occasions to Parliamentary Committees, and also written in newspapers and social media on this and related topics.
Martin regularly cycles both for transport and for pleasure and is Chairman of Thames Velo, a cycling club based in East Berkshire.
